About BSBD

Better Services by Design (BSBD) was a research project run by User-centred Healthcare Design (UCHD) into better ways of designing health and social care services. Invited partners are working with UCHD to learn how to use creative thinking and methods in their own health and social care service development projects.

More information on the research for BSBD partners is available in the Information for Participants document.

About this website

This website was developed to support UCHD’s mentoring of partner projects. We hope that it is also a valuable resource for others looking to use design methods and thinking in their own health and social care improvement projects.

The website was developed through this project. As part of BSBD, we wanted to work out how best to support health and social care professionals in learning how to “do” user-centred service design. This website is one way of doing that. And, throughout the project, we  added to and changed it to make it more helpful. We discussed the website in our regular meetings with BSBD partners, and you can add feedback and comments to this page.
