The Discover stage will help you to understand what people need and want. To do this, you can use the following methods:
User Diary, Day in the Life, User Shadowing, Video Ethnography and Bodymapping to gather a lot of information about service users,
- Communication Mapping to get know service communications,
- User Journey and Service Safari to understand how users use the current service,
- System Map and Process Analysis to get familiar with the service itself, and
- Needs Map to visualize users needs.
